LSE continues to be one of the top universities in the world according the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

The 2019 rankings scored the School particularly highly for its international outlook, its research, its teaching environment and its citations, four of the five measures on which the rankings were based. LSE was ranked 26th out of the 1258 institutions ranked worldwide, and fifth out of the 98 institutions in the UK.

LSE’s performance continues a run of success in global academic rankings; earlier this year, the QS World University Rankings by Subject placed LSE second in the world for social sciences and management subjects.

Commenting on LSE’s success, Minouche Shafik, Director of LSE, said: “LSE’s ranking as one of the leading universities in the world is a tribute to the enduring efforts of everyone at the School, working hard to produce outstanding research and teaching which tackles the biggest challenges facing us today.

“It is especially pleasing to see LSE’s international outlook recognised. The School is proud to be a truly global community of people and ideas, and is committed to providing all who come here a welcoming and stimulating environment to pursue their studies.”

Established in 2003, The Times Higher Education World University Rankings is one of the world’s most widely referenced university rankings. To view the full rankings visit: Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019.
